What to Expect on a Biblical tour — A Practical Guide

Before You Go

Your journey begins long before you board the plane. We recommend spending time in the weeks before your departure reading the scriptures connected to the sites you will visit. Your Redeem Travels team will send you a pre-departure pack including an itinerary breakdown, site descriptions, scripture references for each location, practical travel tips, and packing guidance.

Arriving at your Destination

Your guide and driver will meet you on arrival and transfer you to your hotel. The first evening is typically a time of orientation, dinner, and early rest before the journey begins.

The Rhythm of the Tour

Biblical tours have an early start. Most days begin between 6:30 and 7:30am to make the most of cooler temperatures and arrive at key sites before crowds. Breakfast is typically at the hotel, followed by a full day of guided visits with breaks for meals, rest, and personal reflection. Evenings are usually free for dinner, journaling, or quiet time.

The Emotional Experience

Many travelers are surprised by the emotional depth of the experience. Standing at the site of the crucifixion, or kneeling at the tomb of Jesus, or floating in the waters of the Jordan River — these are moments that can move even the most composed traveler deeply. This is not unusual. It is the nature of sacred encounter. Give yourself permission to feel what you feel.

What to Pack

Modest clothing is important for visiting religious sites (shoulders and knees covered). Comfortable walking shoes are essential. Sunscreen, a hat, and a reusable water bottle are daily necessities. A personal journal is highly recommended — many of our travelers say their journal becomes one of their most treasured possessions.
